Isobel’s teaching approach is based on several core beliefs: providing a positive role model, each child becoming a motivated learner, teaching for all ability levels, helping each pupil to plot their own path to progress and finally being a reflective practitioner myself. She believes that this combination of skills can enable her classroom to be a place that promotes good progress and above all a love for learning.
Isobel has been teaching for the past eight years throughout different settings and year groups and still loves every day. While at Bassett House School she has taught in Years 3, 4 and 5 and held the position of Heads of Science and Geography. Previous to joining Bassett House School, Isobel has taught at Griffin Primary School, Hotham Primary School, two Primary Schools and a Secondary School in Hong Kong.
Isobel grew up on a farm with a large family. She is the third of four with one older brother and sister, and one younger brother. She has three nephews and loads of cousins. She loved her time teaching abroad in Hong Kong and has a passion for adventure and exploring. She has also just bought her first flat.
