Bassett House School is fortunate to employ our catering staff directly. This ultimately means complete control over the quality of the food served and the menu planning. Pupils meet with the staff once a term to discuss menus, their likes and dislikes.

We all eat together. Teachers sit at the tables with the pupils, and pupils are encouraged to try a variety of different dishes to expand their tastes and help fussy eaters experiment with different food. Pupils are encouraged to have seconds and thirds if they wish.

A typical week of meals may include Chicken Curry, Risotto, Fish Tacos, Burgers and Pasta Bolognaise. In the colder months, these are served with a variety of cooked vegetables to support their healthy eating choices, and in the summer months there are always salad options available for the pupils.
